Wrapped up another school year…

Days and weeks whip around faster and faster lately and I’m doing all that I can to get everything that needs to be done before our voyage to America.  We leave exactly 2 weeks from today!

We are counting down to our summer trip to the states…in our traditional paper chain style - last year we started our countdown wayy earlier than this year… but hey, at least we got it done!

One of the last days of school Audrey had an open house… It was a really great thing to have at the end of the year… They showed us so much of their work and what they had been working on.  We even went to her Arabic, music and art classes.  The art teacher made a museum out of all the elementary artwork (props to her, who has the energy for that at the end of the year?~!

Here is Audrey's piece she chose for the show.  (Earlier in the school day they made visors to wear since they were our tour guides for the evening).  It was adorable.  So blessed to have such a wonderful school here for her. love it.

I took the kids to the Hiltonia to swim and have some fun in the sun.. (a couple of weekends ago)

Here’s Julie-pants. Not sure why I call her that. but I do. Loving this gigantic toothless grin!!  I am just loving this baby.. I swear sometimes I think I could eat her alive. Thankfully she tolerates me munching on her neck, legs, feet.. well all of her.

2nd to last day of school they had a spirit day and were supposed to wear green (school color).  I met up with her for lunch in the cafeteria and stayed for a science experiment afterwards in her class.  It was wonderful!

Audrey and I thought it would be fun for her to wear the same thing on the last day of school that she did on the first day of school…

Here’s Audrey showing off her baby sister in her classroom… hard to believe this sweet potato was born about a week or two after the beginning of school.

To celebrate on her last day, We picked up Will from preschool and went straight to Murjan splash park.  Always a good time.

This week we celebrated Will’s preschool ‘graduation’  - Here they start big school at age 4, so he will join Audrey at ACS for KG1 next year (same as PreK in America).

For me the end of the school year is a little emotional.  When I look back at the beginning and I was waddling them in and out of school with my big belly and I think about now how much they’ve grown and changed; how much I’VE grown and changed… and everything that has happened in between.  With blood sweat and tears this year brought SO many challenges but also many triumphs.  We are all better for having struggled through it..  We’re (hopefully) on the other side of the hardest year ever.

What a blessing I have to call these kids mine.

I have got to come over soon and squeeze on them! They have changed so much since I saw them last. I barely recognize Julia! Beautiful post. By the way, I am totally hitting you up for arts & crafts ideas when my kiddos are older. How you think to do these things amazes me. Best mom ever.
