I Passed!

YAY! I got the results from the glucose test and passed with flying colors!! :)

My blood sugar was 88 after the 1 hour test - so no gestational diabetes for me! woo whoo!

I'm not going to celebrate too much with sweets though.. my weight gain this go 'round is more than I'd like it to be. I am trying to go to the gym a couple of times a week and eat a little better this month. We'll see if it shows up on the scale or not.

God's Will = Our Son

As you all know, we are expecting a baby in early March... four short months away. The Lord is letting us borrow a son
{I think mainly to just drive Charles crazy- ha!}. I say, "letting us borrow" because as you know.. this child, as well as all of us, belong to Him - We are His: (Deuteronomy 10:14). My prayer for our son was: God you already know his name; you know everything about his life and everything he will say and do... As you continue to knit him together in my womb, please guide me and reveal to me what you have already chosen to call him.

The Answer:

No, God didn't shout out to me this sweet name after my prayer - we needed to listen to the tugging of the Holy Spirit as we had a list of names we couldn't possibly narrow down on our own - (especially with these pregnancy hormones.. totally indecisive!) We have been talking about names a lot in our house this week back and forth on which ones to choose in front of Audrey. One early morning immediately after praying this - I went into her room and after singing the itsy bitsy spider {with hand motions and all} she looked up at me and out of no prompting or anything said, "Will" and in true 2 year old style repeated it about 10 times. WOW. I think that was the fastest answered prayer I've ever had!... She also tells me that she has a baby in her tummy too - so, who knows! ;) ha! Nevertheless, We felt a strong peace about the name after that!

William is Charles' grandfather's name: who Charles had the blessing of growing up close to and spent countless hours talking to and learning from. Today Charles still talks to his grandfather quite often (unfortunately probably more often than his own mother!) and looks to him for wisdom and Godly counsel. I was pretty stumped on what to do on the middle name and thankfully got some guidance from others on what to do... We love his name and have such a peace in knowing that this is what he is to be called.

I had my first doctor's appointment today and everything looked GREAT!

I was a bit confused after leaving about when my actual due date is... during my examination the doctor said that I was definitely at least 7 weeks 5 days along, maybe further (he estimated t the due date at Mar.4). Then, in the ultrasound the baby measured only at 6 weeks 4 days (Making the due date Mar. 11th) I decided to take it upon myself

{{the medical professional that i am..}} to split the difference and keep it at March 8... making me 7 weeks & 3 days..

It was AWESOME to see that tiny miracle in my belly and hearing the little heart beat (145 bpm) loud and clear! It was NOT SO AWESOME to learn that I have already gained 3 pounds~!!~!! UGH! i need to watch it!!

by the way.. THIS IS MY 100th POST! thank y'all for reading and letting me carry on about anything and everything! ;) and a *special* thank you to the peanut gallery - i love reading comments - it makes me feel like someone is actually reading this blog.. so keep 'em coming..

Miracle in the Making..

Our baby's just about the size of a pencil eraser, but is already developing amazingly distinct facial features! Dark spots mark the areas where her eyes and nostrils will be, and his/her arms, legs, hands, and feet are taking shape too. Since fingers and toes have not appeared yet, at this stage these limbs almost look like tiny paddles. The baby's brain is also growing more complex; if you could take a peek, it would be clearly visible inside the transparent skull. And he or she's started to move in small jerky motions, although you won't feel these movements until about your fourth month of pregnancy. And how cool is this: I'll likely get to see my teeny, tiny baby through an ultrasound at an upcoming prenatal visit!

I've been feeling pretty good - I get a case of the "queasies" every morning and sometimes afternoons too... not too bad most of the time - however, the feeling of starving to death but nothing sounds good to eat is kind of frustrating - but all worth it in the end! I've also been super sleepy, which is to be expected.. so far no throwing up - so I'm happy! ;)
