For Sale.

Once Again, Having to let go of a house that I have made into a home isn’t exactly easy.  I really love our house, our neighborhood location and ESPECIALLY our awesome friends we have made in the neighborhood.   I love being able to zip to a friends house in about 1 minute or drop each other items we need or even dinner.  I have been known to drop of treats late at night too. Within a one mile radius I have so many dear friends that I talk to daily. It is so wonderful to be able to have spontaneous visits/playtime for the kids or depend on each other when we’re in need of a helping hand.. I love my “hood”.

Signed - Sealed - Delivered, It's Yours!

The lawyer/notary came over tonight to bring us all the paperwork for closing. We signed it all (Selling requires way less signatures than buying). He (the lawyer) has to just put his notary seal on everything and drop it off to the overnight FedEx box. It will be delivered to Katy tomorrow -

Closure

The closing date has been moved up for the sale of our house in Katy - It is now on June 19... 1 week from Thursday! :) I loved that house and all the memories we made there - but we are thrilled to have that monkey off of our backs! :)

The Good, Bad & the Ugly

The Good: We got a third offer on the house - PRAY PRAY PRAY that this is our buyer!!!
The Bad: My visit with family in Lake Charles is over today - I'm flying with Audrey back to SC
The Ugly: OUR HOUSE STILL STINKS! any ideas??

SICKO

SOME NASTY SICKO wadded up toilet paper and peed on them and hid them in our guest bathroom in the house we are trying to sell. After we got feedback that our house smelled like dog pee from showings this week - our sweet realtor went and checked it out for himself to figure out what this was all about. When he found the DISGUSTING two wads of toilet paper he threw them out and has made FOUR trips to our house to try and deodorize and get the smell out. This makes me sick to my stomach - I just want to cry. WHO would do such a thing?? - this is, in my opinion vandalism. The people that saw our house this week really really liked it and even went back for a second showing - but couldn't get passed the smell. SERIOUSLY?!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm getting so fed up - someone is sabotaging us trying to sell the house... we just can't catch a break - UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Getting a Reduction

Ha.. The price of the House is getting a reduction.. not me - I think i'd be left with nothing if that were the case! :) Hopefully reducing the price will stir up some new interest and make the house sell faster. Continue praying for the perfect buyer to come along!

Bad News Continues

I got an email from our realtor today stating:
"I am sorry to have to tell you that the buyers had evidently put in two offers at the same time and decided to go with the other one due to the size of the back yard."
So we continue...

Second Offer

Our realtor, Steve Reddell (who we highly recommend), just sent us an email about another offer in the works. I know that they aren't super in love with the house because the initial feedback that we got from their showing was that they wanted something with a bigger back yard and they didn't like the colors.. (whatever! ha ha :) - so it wasn't on their list. Apparently - they've had a change of heart.. In all seriousness though PLEASE be praying over this. We really need to sell our house (having two notes is no fun) I would appreciate it very much if you'd just pause right now and take a moment to ask God's favor upon this offer.

Precious Father, Thank you for sending this couple to our home and changing their minds about making an offer. We know that you are all powerful and nothing is too big or too small for you to deal with. God, we've seen your hand throughout this process as you've revealed and unfolded your plan for our family. If it is in your will, God, we ask that this offer goes through and the sale of our home be complete in your perfect timing. If this is not your will, please provide for us during this time as you have been doing all along. We Love You and are so grateful for your son, Jesus. We ask this in His wonderful name...

Ok.. so the house is BACK on the market - the deal has officially fallen through.. We are kind of irritated at the situation because the couple STILL couldn't get approved. They dragged us through many weeks of extensions etc... and our house has been off of the market for quite some time. I know everything happens for a reason and maybe that was God's way of giving me a break (of keeping the house perfect for showings) so that we could move and be with Charles. Maybe it was so we could get a better deal later on.. Maybe it was just so we would "think" it would sell - so we would make a decision quicker and be able to grab the house we loved before it was gone.. Maybe it was just a huge mistake to move before closing (per their request).. who knows.. all i know is that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love Him (Romans 8:28)... Many of the signs were there from the beginning that this would happen, but we had hope that it would all work out - and it still will, just not the way we thought it would.. which is usually the case in most things. :) anyone interested in buying a house?

Gettin' Ready

tomorrow is the big day - the movers come and begin to pack us up - we are gettin' every thing ready - I have set up all utilities and cable/internet and phone service (good news - unlimited long distace calling!!!) and have all services scheduled for shut down here.. I have also taken everything off of the walls and puttied the holes and touched up paint.. Today my main goal is to pack us up.. for wednesday-sunday - and hopefully remember everything to set aside; b/c if it is out, they'll pack it! I have been so busy here - I like to call it a divine distraction - so that I don't have time to be sad or upset about going "bye bye." Don't get me wrong, I do have those moments of complete break-down... I am trusting trusting trusting that God will provide. LOVE Y'ALL! Christa

Best Dad EVER

Ok.. I have to brag on my dad for a minute - after a full day of work, he rented a U-Haul, loaded it full of HEAVY furniture and a matress & box-spring, drove over to Katy (from Lake Charles) arrived at 9:40 p.m. then woke up early the next morning, unloaded everything by himself and then he drove back to Lake Charles to return the U-Haul and get some work done.. GEEZ! I really cannot express how much that means to me. What a wonderful blessing it is to have a father who loves me so much to make these types of sacrifices without even batting an eye. I am so thankful for him ... It was a tearful goodbye, as I know that I won't see him as often as I am able to right now. Busy Week

I'm officially exhausted and the "real" work hasn't even begun!
On a last minute spontaneous decision - I decided to go to Greenville to find a house. I drove to Lake Charles on Monday afternoon to drop Audrey off at the grandparents houses and got up the next morning at 2:30 a.m. to catch a plane in Lafayette. I arrived in Greenville at lunchtime and house hunted for about 4 1/2 hours and went to dinner with my friend, Shane and her husband Jonathan and a neat little sushi restaurant downtown... Then the next day house hunted some more and found "IT" signed the lease that day and then out to dinner with charles at PF Changs.. Got up the next morning at 4:00 a.m. - (that is 3 o'clock Houston time) and flew back to Lafayette, picked up Audrey in Lake Charles and continued on to Katy - got home today at 4:00... my head is spinning... but well worth it - here is our unbelievable (rental) home in Greenville - the atmosphere is very casual and inviting - so cozy and it has such a southern charm about it! :) I love it!

Inspector Gadget... da na na na na oooh oooh!

Inspections are tomorrow at 3:30. Please pray that nothing serious is wrong with our house as well as the buyer being flexible with the little things that the inspector will inevitably find. They are kind of putting us up against a wall with timing of all of this. Our option period is over as of Monday at midnight so that only gives us Sunday and Monday to deal with any issues whether (big or small) that pop up.

Moving right along...

here's to making a long story short:
1. We accepted an offer - same people; better deal

2. We are on day 3 of the 10 day option period - (where they can back out easily)

3. Fluor has assigned a moving company - New World Van Lines

4. Moving out dates:

April 9th & 10th they pack - April 11th they load up and leave - Arriving in Greenville on April 14th with our stuff.

5. Charles will come back to Houston for closing on April 18th

Reject

Many of you are interested in an update on how our house is doing on the market: We have had lots of traffic through here in the last week - Our house has been on the market for 10 days and we've had 10 showings (2 of them were re-shows).. busy busy busy! We have had two different couples show a little extra intrest in the house and one of them put an offer in today. We rejected it - it was a really big low ball and we decided we weren't even going to entertain the thought of going that low. Our realtor supported that decision 100% since the offer was so ridiculous. I have been praying for wisom through all of this since the bible says in James 1:5 "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him." We certainly lack wisdom in this department because we have never done this before! Fortunately we have been blessed with a Christian realtor that we trust completely. Please be praying for good, realistic offers that we can work with...

Beginning of the End...

OK - it is official, we are selling our house and the "process" has begun. It is becoming more real to me that this is actually going to happen... sadness.
