We took a quick weekend getaway trip to Fujairah. It was a simple 3 hour drive and a perfect little road trip. You know your kids are getting a bit spoiled to expat life when they complain that you aren’t taking an airplane! sheesh! We stayed at the Rotana and we are already looking forward to our next visit to Fujairah – the mountains combined with the tropical palm trees made us feel like we were far, far away. It was simply beautiful.
On the drive we saw this huge UAE flag painted on the mountain side. When we finally arrived, the kids were more than thrilled! Audrey must have asked, “Are we there yet?!” 50 times. They were super excited about our trip and were wayyy too silly for me to get a good picture upon our arrival.
We got our room changed into swimsuits and hit the pool… Apparently I forgot the camera in the room because the next picture I have is of will crashed out at 5:30 pm. We let him have a good little cat nap before heading to dinner.
When we got to the lobby we had a Mickey Mouse sighting!

This is Nicole and sweet little Chloe (only 9 weeks old). She was such a trooper and could hang with her 3 older brothers!
Will loved the beach – something he is very familiar with… We don’t have waves though in Abu Dhabi and he had a blast jumping over the waves with mama while sister hunted for sea shells.
Hey Matthew! He is about one year older than Will.
The beach was hours of fun for the kiddos – we went early in the morning and it wasn’t hot – but when the sun started beating down… off to the pool!

Our room was considered a “terrace” room – which was soooo convenient – it was on the first floor, had a grassy area the kids could play in and RIGHT off of the pool… Really nice for all those back and forth trips I did with the kids to the room during the day.

We squeezed in more beach and pool time before we checked out at 12:00 and headed back to Abu Dhabi. A quick trip, but just right!
