The Girl Scouts put on a Father Daughter dance every year and it truly is one of the highlights of Audrey’s year. She has been looking forward to this for months and was beyond thrilled that “Today is the day!” She is there now with Charles and I just can’t wait to hear all about it when they return. Since my wonderful friend, Nancy was the chair-lady of this event, I was very involved in the last few weeks trying to help out with the prep work for the dance. Here are some pictures of Audrey and Charles… maybe I’ll feel like writing more about the details of the dance later, but for now, I’m zapped! I started my day making 3 gallons of icing and piping 160 cupcakes… whew! Then after a couple hours of decorating for the dance, I rushed home in time to bring Audrey to get a manicure – her only request was to have French manicure like mama does. she thought she was BIG stuff!.. afterwards I got her bathed, fixed her hair and dressed/ ready and out the door with daddy.
I was totally hands off when it came to her special night and let her pick whatever dress she wanted to wear, her shoes.. notice the gold high heels..ha. and honored her requests for her hair and of course her nails…. I enjoy giving her room to show her own style {within reason} and try often to give her opportunities to make choices. My little girl is getting so big!
