So I’m still trucking thru our summer and I’m so glad I’m not squeezing it into one post and I am able to document each of the memories… even though it is taking me for-EVER… Something that was a big part of my trip back to the states was being able to celebrate my mom’s 50th birthday. We planned (and pulled off) a HUGE surprise party for her… My dad was very sweet to think that she’d want us all there for it and even though her birthday isn’t until November, we did it anyway! My mom’s birthday is extra special to all of us since she battled and beat breast cancer 5 years ago. What a woman! Her 50th was totally a celebration of her life.
We had so much fun planning and working on this, it was really tricky at times since I had to keep the secret from Audrey too. I was only able to work my part of the party stuff when she was away or asleep – and since my mom pretty much knew where I was all summer, this was no easy task. (Above are cupcake toppers purchased on Etsy and then printed at office depot.)
Water Bottle Wraps also from the same Etsy shop.
Pom Pom’s also ordered from Etsy… they are much larger in person.. the colors were fabulous!
Matt, my brother, working on the video down to the very last millisecond.
Everyone enjoyed the video so much.. I think there were nearly 200 pictures of her!
Banner, my dad got printed at FedEx/Kinkos – beautiful even when bald!
The birthday girl!^^
Hola Señorita!!
Mi Familia… where’s dad?!
Me and my hubby dancing to the band.. I could seriously get a crick in my neck.
Booty shakin’ with my sis. We had a BLAST!
The next morning we went on the boat with the kids and went tubing. It was so much fun to have Charles there with us!
It is so rare to have all four of us in a picture. Loving it!
That night we celebrated Audrey’s 5 birthday… this weekend was Jam Packed~!
This cutie can tear up some cake. Actually he eats off all the icing..
Audrey and her Nana (Charles’ mom)
Nana had a special cake for Audrey a couple of days later at her house for Audrey’s actual birthday.. it looks like one continuous day since she wore the same thing. ha ha… Then nana was kind enough to keep Will during his naptime so Audrey and I could celebrate her birthday without any distractions.
I let her choose whatever she wanted to do that day and the two things she wanted both involved paint. She wanted to paint pottery and paint her nails… and so we did!
Audrey with my mom getting her nails dried!
Audrey and her Rapunzel hair.
We inadvertently caught this fish when we pulled a Walmart bag out of the river – this little guy was in there. Audrey was all over it.
My 5 year old got up on skis with my 50 year old mom. Not too many kids get to ski with their grandmothers. LOL.
My dad added a part of the boot onto existing skis and Audrey stood in front of my mom as she skied. MUCH harder than it looks (for my mom). and BRAVO to Audrey for not being afraid at all and ENJOYING it so much! WATCH THE VIDEO:
