AUDREY’S FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!

I’m interrupting the summer series postings for the very important event of:

Audrey’s first day of Kindergarten!!

There wasn’t much prep needed for school, can you believe I didn’t even get to go school-supply-shopping?! My absolutely most favorite shopping trip…. what a nerd, I know! The school provides all the supplies needed, so the only thing I could really do to prepare is get these cute little snack/lunch containers and personalize them.  I had to go gender neutral on most since I will be packing Will’s lunch on Mon. and Wed. for his preschool! (which starts next week).

Egg Sandwich, Grapes and Coffee Milk for breakfast.  I thought the coffee-milk would get her going a little bit since she loves her sleep – but it remained untouched.

How cute is this!?  As soon as Audrey went to school, Will went straight to the haircut place.

Mother/Daughter pic – are my eyes shrinking??  they look abnormally small in this picture.  maybe my face is getting bigger. sheesh. does anyone else pick themselves apart like this when you see a picture of yourself? I hope Audrey never does that.

little nervous at first….

but got settled in very quickly! Smile

We are more than excited about routines, structure, and lots of learning!

*Audrey is back from school today and I knew better than to ask “How was your day” the answer is always disappointing.. so I asked “What did you do all day at school?” instead.  Her response: Got stickers. I asked what else and the response was “I forgot.”  wow. okay. Nevertheless, she did respond with a short “yes” when I asked her if she loved school.  ha.  I’ll take what I can get.  I used Will’s naptime to make Audrey a special after-school snack: Homemade Goldfish Crackers.. surprisingly VERY easy and really good!

Having the two kids separated made for a much more peaceful day – Will was excellently behaved, even during his most dreaded activity, a haircut.  He is totally different child when he is by himself… (in a good way).   I’m not sure what exactly I will do while Will is in school… this is a whole new world for me.
