Adjust

 

Adjust: adapt or conform oneself to new or different conditions

Reflecting on this last week and all that God has brought us through, I am surprised at how easily we are able to adjust and adapt to totally different circumstances.  Here are some of the differences that we have adjusted through.

(*somehow i forgot this one.. not sure HOW?! but the biggest: 10 Hour Time difference!.. and i’m too lazy to go back and re number since it definitely doesn’t go last.)

1. No car.

2. Catching Taxi’s

3. I hand washed all the dishes for the first week b/c of a plug situation in kitchen

4. No reality shows

5. Celsius instead of Fahrenheit

6. A combined (teeny tiny) washer and dryer

7. Way less toys

8. No crib for Will

9. Only a couple hours sleep per night for one full week

10. No preschool for Audrey

11. No gym (or childcare for Will)

12. Barely stocked kitchen tools/gadgets

13. The smells here. (don’t underestimate that one)

14. Culture differences

15. No bacon (unless we want to pay about $10 for a small pkg.) we just might! this isn’t really a suffering difference at this point. just thought I might let you know so while you are crunching on your bacon, think of us. ;)

16. Military Time

17. no Walmart or Target

18. Kids sharing a room

19. No PHONE! *Fluor has provided me with a temporary cell recently though.. thankful for that!

20. Currency Exchange: Dirhams instead of Dollars. 1 dollar = 3.65 Dirhams

Yet we are finding our way, making routines again and getting back to a new normal. We are enjoying much that our new lifestyle has to offer as well as having challenging times too.. (growing pains!).   We appreciate so much that y’all have been praying for us and following the blog. Your support is so encouraging and uplifting.  Please continue!

Oh christa! Once again, you've entertained me for a little while with your stories. The views are beautiful and y'all seem to be adjusting well! Hopefully Will will soon get out of his BAD phase and everything will get better. At least he's consistent!!! Haha!

Life is what you make it and you always have a way of making lemonade out of lemons. I know there has to be days that you just cry and that is ok. Adjustments take time and you are doing amazing! Love reading your blog! Stay positive girl and look to God. He will never give us more than we can handle.

I'm balling my eyes out-- so many memories and emotions just came back to me... you wrote my life on your blog. I totally understand what this past week has been like and I think you have done an amazing job adjusting. In time, things will get even easier and you will question why you ever thought things were tough. God will truly stretch you in more ways then you ever imagined. we're praying for ya'll!
