My sweet sweet girl is FOUR! Audrey turned 4 on Tuesday and I was thrilled to celebrate with her since she is really old enough to understand and enjoy it! We started the day with her waking up to streamers all over the place and she LOVED that! Next was pancakes and a happy birthday song!
We got ready to go after having lots of phone calls and birthday wishes and headed out for her to get her fingernails and toenails painted.. pink, of course! La Royale Salon in Sugar Land has the most adorable room with these precious chairs.. Audrey LOVED IT.. she was beaming the whole time and was so appreciative too.. :)
Afterwards we stopped by Party City to pick up some things for her birthday party – she also picked out some decorations for her itty bitty cake (*she was to decorate it later that day). It was now lunchtime (AND naptime for Will – but since it was sister’s birthday, we pushed it a little too far). We went to Cupcake Cafe.. which is absoutely PRECIOUS! The kids menu was $5.50 and it included a normal kid type food.. (mac-n-cheese, PB&J, Grilled Cheese.. etc) a bag of chips, a drink and a cupcake with the icing and sprinkles on the side.. how cute is that?! The kids are to decorate their own! :)

this is the ceiling ^^
Of course audrey loved this idea but we didn’t have our food a full 2 minutes when there was a full court press melt down. BAD. ‘Brudder’ was all done with the birthday day. I so wanted to have a sitter that day and believe me I called ours, but she had dance practice.. Will was SO BAD we just had to leave. We took everything to go and skidattled out of there. We got back and put GROUCHO do bed and kept on celebrating! Audrey ate lunch and decorated her cupcake then I let her pick out her icing color – I got her icing all ready for her and all the available sprinkles and let her go to town.. she did great and loved every minute! you can’t really tell here, but the cake is tiny. just her size!
The rest of the day was pretty low key – we played a few games of Zingo, she continued getting phone calls from family, she just played with toys and watched a bit of tv – We had a leftover night since we had a ton of meals with leftovers.. everyone picked what they wanted to eat and we enjoyed singing to Audrey one last time as she enjoyed her cake.
The next morning the first thing she said was, “Mama, am I still FOUR?!” :) sweet girl!
fast forward to Thursday…
Mere and Cappy came to visit us a little early for Audrey’s party and we were so excited for them to come!!
they came with gifts in tow for all.. even me and charles!
New PJ’s for Audrey and Will came out first, then dad made up some excuse for us to go outside and low and behold they brought us a PORCH SWING!! hip hip hooray!!!!!!! *PICTURES SOON TO FOLLOW!
That was the last and final thing we wanted on our porch before we considered it done and since this summer hasn’t been the cheapest one ever – we were planning on just putting it off a bit – but SURPRISE! they bought and brought us one! This guy out of Moss Bluff makes them and they are super comfortable and even have an adjustable back! I was thrilled!!!! Mom even went the extra mile to stain it for us too. wow!
after the porch swing reveal Audrey got her birthday present from my parents.. a CRICKET DOLL! ok.. you may not have been so lucky to have one of these when you were little.. and boy you missed out! It is a real deal vintage cricket doll.
Mom found on on ebay and boy it brought back some memories!!!
Cricket comes with cassette tapes and her mouth moves when she talks! she tell stories, sings songs and NEVER SHUTS UP! a great idea for keeping her company – really, it is adorable!
Audrey LOVES it!
Friday: We got up ate breakfast with mere and cappy and then me and mom went to our gym and took a pilates class together – it was nice to hang out together without the kids…
we got back and started to prepare for the party (which was at 4 at our church, Sugar Creek Baptist)
The birthday party was a hit! Lots of her friends came and they all had a BALL! we had a great time! I loved how simple it was and so nice that they close the playscape down so that there aren’t any other people there – just the people you invite. EASY EASY.. not sure if I ever want to throw another party at home again.!! the party was over at 6 and we were home at 6:12. seriously. It was awesome. Audrey got lots of wonderful gifts and they have been entertaining her ever since! :)
cupcake toppers.. if you want to make these.. i did textured 2” rounds.. wish i would have had scallop, but i was being practical when I bought the circle so i could use them for will and audrey’s parties.. the personalized part is 1.5” . They are attached to lolly pop sticks by the thick double sided sticky mounting tape. I got the printing done at Office Depot.
tags for the favors ^^
FAVORS! Personalized cups with silly bandz inside!
rice krispie treat balls – am I the only grown up that can eat my weight in rice krispies??
I cannot believe my little punkin head is 4 already. This time next year I will be getting her ready for kindergarten.. where has the time gone?! She is a wonderful child and hardly gives us any trouble… which is much more than I can say for her brother. UGH. love him, but GOSH he is BAD!

Enjoyed reading about Audrey's Birthday celebration. I knew it would be special! You are so creative. My friend lost her daughter last year - Wendi had a 3 year old - Zoe had her 4th birthday this month (another "first" for them to face). They made it a birthday week, on the night of her birthday they went outside and let her "let go" 4 birthday baloons to her mother. It was so touching!!!!
