Familiar and Foreign

I wanted to update and let y'all know that we've had a really good couple of days here. Audrey has been adjusting more and more which makes my day less manic. She has had no accidents yesterday or today - praise God! She has been very well behaved thanks to a new jar discipline system (thanks kenzie for the idea) it is working like a charm. As for Mr. William, he is wearing me out during the night still waking up to eat twice each and every night and whining, grunting, cooing, snorting, moaning and squealing in between. Making for very short nights and loooong days.

Last night we had company come in from out of town - My dear friend Christy, her husband Matt and their son Cayden. We really enjoyed their company! Christy and I haven't seen each other in over a year and we just chatted away and before we knew it - it was already 11:00 p.m. I was up with Will at 2:30, 4:00-5:00 and Audrey woke up around 6:30.. exhuasted is a total understatement.. several of these nights are totally catching up with me and our very busy days are just adding fuel to the fire.

Trying to jump back into a fast paced life style from our slow laid back South Carolina life sometimes feels like trying to hop into a jump rope game (*you know that fancy kind when they are swinging around two jump ropes and the young girls can hop and lift their feet at just the right time so they don't get nailed with the jump rope..) only i'm not hopping and jumping quickly enough and I feel like I keep getting hit in the head with the rope. ha ha..

In other ways it feels very familiar but also foreign at the same time - almost eerie. If you can imagine having a very full life and then slipping into a coma, going to prison or just falling off the face of the earth for exactly one year and then coming back to society- in some ways it feels like we never left and in others it feels like i'm in the twilight zone... hard to explain... but hopefully you get the picture.

I intended for this to be a short post - but I went rambling on.. to sum it all up in one sentence:
We are adjusting nicely - I'm exhausted - and we are already SUPER BUSY... & trying to keep up with lots on the calendar.

** By the way - we LOVE being back in Texas and appreciate all the wide open arms welcoming us back :) It is SO GOOD to be here again...
Love,

Bless you, Christa! I hope that you can get some rest soon and that William begins to sleep for longer intervals! I can imagine that the calendar is full and that things are busy, which is awesome...but reminds me of what my mom always tells me: that"saying "yes" to one thing means saying "no" to another." Perhaps declining a few invites could mean saying yes to a nap? I hope you can put your feet up soon!!!
We miss you dearly!
