Right when I became a SAHM (stay-at-home-mom) I got into a cleaning schedule and stuck to it rigidly. Since cleaning isn't my favorite thing to do - this worked very well for me... I had a task to check off for each day and I was done - no guilt for seeing something needed to be done and not doing it... certain days are assigned for certain tasks - if it isn't the day for it, then it was okay to leave it undone ~ knowing that it would be taken care of soon. Since our move, I haven't been very good about cleaning as regularly... but I have decided it is time to get back on the "schedule" here it goes:
Sunday: check fridge and pantry for inventory, meal plan for the week & make a grocery list
Monday: do all Laundry and Grocery Shopping for entire week
Tuesday: Clean Bathrooms
Wednesday: Vacuum, Sweep & Mop floors for whole house
Thursday: {take the day off of cleaning - go to Bible Study}
Friday: Dust & Windex the wood and glass surfaces in house
Saturday: Enjoy the family
In the past, if I missed a day of cleaning for some reason I would just double up on another day - either ahead of time or after the fact.. This system really helped me to run the household smoothly and efficiently without being overwhelmed. Gotta go! I've got laundry to do!
