house was packed up on Saturday 29th, Sunday 30th and Monday 31st
we killed time at our house and the kids got creative.. they pretended that this was a train.
we were off to the airport at 2:30 p.m. and got to hang out in the swanky elite lounge since Charles travels so much… he has all the points/status one person could ever need. We had all we could eat and drink there and I changed the kids into pj’s just before boarding at 6:00 p.m.
while we were there we gave Audrey a special camel necklace for our move.
Audrey was getting all situated before take off.. of course Charles got to sit by her at first… we switched after about 2.5 hours of me wrestling with Will and trying to keep him entertained. Charles got him to sleep around 8:00 and it was the most enjoyable 10 hours.. yes he slept 10 hours!! what a blessing.
Audrey sleeping
Will sleeping
we had these touch screen monitors/ tv’s that were about 17” that we were able to monitor the flight as well as watch movies on. so nice!
a close up of our route
even though he slept a loooong time, he was always slipping down or about to fall – i got a cute pic of daddy holding him during flight while they both slept.
Dubai airport was first class! we had people waiting on us with our names on screens and they escorted us all the way thru customs and on the other side we had 2 drivers waiting: one for us and one for our luggage. The drive was miserable.. we were tired, hungry and cramped – but we made it to Abu Dhabi and had lots of surprises waiting for us from the sweet sweet Fluor people. Check out the sign.. prayer rooms in the airport.
Flowers were for me from Fluor saying welcome to Abu Dhabi… so thoughtful!
The picture doesn’t do them justice.. the arrangement is HUGE! and of course you can see absolutely gorgeous!
they had lots of pantry and refrigerator items waiting for us as well as lots of TOYS! the kids were literally screaming with excitement!!
it felt like Christmas
CAN YOU BELIEVE THEY HAVE PAPA JOHNS HERE!!? We had 2 pizzas here for us as well.. we have almost devoured both of them already. :)
as we drove thru Dubai it was absolutely gorgeous! Compared to driving thru Abu Dhabi it is really different looking. Abu Dhabi is much more green – plants trees grass etc.. both have tons of tall buildings, like REALLY tall and I can’t wait to catch a glimpse during the day. I want to visit Atlantis in Dubai with the kids soon.. there were pictures all over the Dubai Airport it looked amazing.
Today we need to grab a blowdryer for me, some clocks.. there are none, a phone charger, some larger trash cans… conditioner for audrey, oh and a COFFEE POT, this instant stuff is nasty!
