LUCKIEST BIRTHDAY GIRL IN THE WORLD!

My 30th birthday was, honest to God, the best birthday I’ve ever had. It was full of love, thoughtfulness and great food and even better gifts!! I loved getting to see my parents, Charles’ mom, being with my kids and even got to spend an evening with some girlfriends!  If you want to hear all about my birthday bliss read on! (**WARNING – this blog post might make you extremely jealous… it was truly AMAZING!)

I’ll start from the top:

I mentioned to Charles that I really needed a new set of pots, since my previous set from Sam’s (7 years old) were sticking and just worn out.   I was a bit surprised that he showed up about a week before my birthday with the new set! I was thrilled! As you know, we do a lot of cooking around here and I really appreciated that he got them for me!! :)

 

Last Thursday we went to the Vineyard in Town Square for a great food, wine and GIRL TIME! As you can see, my allergies are still getting the best of me…. nonetheless, We had so much fun! the food was amazing and I cannot thank my Telfair gals enough for treating me to such a wonderful dinner!

We shared lots of good wine and great laughs – LOVE my neighbors!!

 

The night before my bday, my mom and dad came in town. I knew mom was coming, but when I saw my dad pull up It was a total surprise!! how sweet of both of them to travel to see me on my birthday!  We got to visit a bit and then Charles and I snuck off to dinner at PF Changs, while they cared for the kiddos.  We both LOVE this place. YUM. We always do the “Dinner for Two” deal which is such a bargain! it is $39 and you get to each have a soup, share an appetizer, each get an entree (our favorite is Mongolian Beef) and each get a dessert (they are these cute tiny desserts served in a glass similar to a shot glass). I always get the miniature great wall one that is dark chocolate and raspberry and Charles gets the Tiramisu.

 

My flat iron was almost 7 years old and losing it’s “UMPH” I originally wanted the babyliss flat iron that my mom has.. it is amazing!! But she had an even better one for me – this flat iron is WONDERFUL – her hair stylist used it on her hair and she said her hair was “too straight” is there ever such a thing? haha!! I got a compliment within the 30 minutes of being in public after using it.  Thank You Mom and Dad!!

Mom and I checked Audrey out of Preschool early to go have a birthday lunch at Lupe Tortilla’s. LOVE that place. so good and the sand play ground area is ideal for having an enjoyable time without fighting kids to stay seated.  UNLESS you have my son – and you have to keep catching him from running into the parking lot.  He bolted at least twice, stole everyone's shoes (crocs).. he was a holy terror.  Big reminder why we don’t go out with our kids much. HA!  We still had a great time though and I loved getting to spend some time with my mama!

 

My mother-in-law came in town to spend some time and celebrate with us on the afternoon of my birthday – we enjoyed the visit and had dinner at home since the kids were wiped out from all the bday fun.  We enjoyed catching up with her… she came with loads of surprises for the kids - she was so very generous and gifted me some birthday money! :)  I really appreciate her making the trip to spend the night with us!! Thank you SO much!

 

Ok. and I must have the sweetest friends on the planet?!!?! i won’t name them – because I know they wouldn’t want that, but 2 of my gal pals went in together and got me a pandora bracelet with my birthstone charm!! I mentioned once that I would love to start one and much to my surprise.. like big surprise.. they got this for me. I mean, can a girl have sweeter friends?!!! SO GENEROUS and SO THOUGHTFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!

My husband surprised me.. like totally shocked (I thought my bday gift was done with the pots.. I was so pleased with just that).   He bought me a strand of pearls – like REALLY NICE ones – they are so elegant – and even more precious than the pearls I LOVE the way he was so thoughtful! I have never mentioned or asked for this.  He thought it up all by himself. This was a HUGE surprise! I told him when I’m old and grey and wearing my pearls I will always remember that I received them on my 30th birthday.  I hope Audrey will cherish them long after I’m gone.  I really am the Luckiest Girl in the WORLD!

It totally blows my mind when I try wrapping my head around all that was done for me to make my 30th special.   I am so very blessed, not by the material items, but by the friendships and the family that care about me enough to feel like making that effort. WOW. I had the best birthday – beyond anything I could have dreamed up.  THANK YOU to everyone who made it unforgettable.
